Re: Almost saved- so near and yet so far

I think it's sad that we can LOOK at someone and judge if they are saved or not.....jmo! Personally, I would rather leave that up to God....

Wow....Im just..........WOW....I got a buddy that used to ride with satans tramps *biker gang* Long story short he has the Holy Ghost and been baptised in Jesus name...the man is living a holy and righteous life...but just looking at him from a Pentecostal background you see the tats and a beard...you're thinking aint no way....but yet when he starts to talk...and even preach under the annointing of the HolyGhost you know he has the goods.Doesnt matter who the man runs into give him a minute and youre gonna hear that you need the HolyGhost and that you need to be baptised in Jesus' name and you may even get "GASP" prayed for in public. You cant go judging people like that. There are people in pants with beards and with ear rings that are FAR more righteous and holy in spirit and desire then some that wear their sleeves down to their knuckles and skirts down to their toes.

But doesn't the bible SAY that you will know them by their apostolic identity?

Re: Almost saved- so near and yet so far

Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Mat 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Mat 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
Mat 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
Mat 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

How sad for you.

What next breathing is a work?

What kind of "Christian" refuses to be baptized?

Unbelievable.
I forget... your mind is trapped in a self-righteous works based mentality which thinks of yourself you can earn you way to Heaven. You read what you want into what someone says. I never said that a Christian refuses baptism, but said that baptism was for the believer.

Baptism is a work that you do to be saved. baptism according to scripture is a work done by the believer because he is saved. Please, whomever you are, please read what I am saying more clearly.

Baptism is obedience, not salvational. Please read things right.

If that is the case, no one was saved prior to 1913.

BTW, Go Steelers!

And don't be afraid to fill in the blank above either

After all this is AFF

I did fill in the blank, and I guess a friendly admin edited it.

I wasn't aware that the word "........" used in the Biblical context was considered inappropriate.

My bad.

I think that's just an auto-setting on the board, not something an Admin edited. It's set to *** out certain words automatically.
