That's my kind of hunt.
We only got 1 Forkie horn so far this year, his horns were 18" wide and 20" tall. He weighed over 200 lbs.

Those making fun of hunters will be thinking differently if times get as rough as predicted.
True, I might be calling you for a slab of venison!

Here's my Dad at 75 years in Idaho. He had already taken and packed in his big bull by the time my son and I got there to take the two smaller elk. If you have ever packed an elk in then you know what a tremendous feat this is. Positive proof that preachers can be tough! Not just in the pulpit. lol

I've packed them out before, but since my back surgery I can't do that anymore, give me a horse. Great looking elk. We're going back up Saturday, but it's been warm this week - in the 60's.

Outstanding, did you do a self hunt or have an outfitter set you up?

No outfitter. We have always packed ourselves in with a lot of walking and back in away from most other hunting activity. We have just started using horses this year for our deer hunting up above 10,000 ft.

Went in 2006 with K. Blankenship in Colorado around the same altitude, used quads to get around. Killed my first Mule Deer there. Got be in shape though. He missed a nice 5x5 with a huge spread.

Now seeing these pictures gives me the itch.
