I love this one:

Casting Crowns

Praise You In This Storm

I was sure by now
That You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say “Amen”, and it’s still raining

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as You mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will life my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry
You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can’t find You

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

We had a lady come to our church and sing this song one night. She said she had no idea why she felt to sing this song, She sang for me. She had no idea I was battling so hard and the Lord sent her two hours to our church to sing this song for me.

Needless to say, I LOVE that song. It really ministered to me at a time when I needed it the most.

Don't you just love it when people are sensitive to the spirit? God uses people, things, whatever he chooses to minister to those who love Him. Sis. CS, I hope things are looking better for you today!

Blessings & Prayers, Rhoni

Seg,

In the secular world, sex sells.

In the religious world, criticism sells.

If you can establish yourself as a critic of the Church, you have carved out a place for yourself among the mighties.

Certainly I believe there are a lot of things the Church could do better, but when I see someone or some ministry whose consistent theme is picking at the Church, it turns me off.

Having said that, I do like the song "I Will Praise You in This Storm."

Could you please share with us one of the songs that you have listened to that has brought you to this conclusion about Casting Crowns?

Please point out where I labeled this group that way.

I have only listened to one of their projects.

I was simply using Seg's post to make a general statement about an observation I have made.

His observation was made specifically about Casting Crowns and your post was in agreement to his post. It is a fair assumption to tie your post to Casting Crowns.

But... accepting that you were not speaking of Casting Crowns...

What songs have you seen that sell so well because of their critical message?

Again,

My comments were not about songs only or even specifically.

Read the post again.

I simply used his comment as a springboard to make the observation that it is currently popular to set oneself up as a critic of the church.

This forum is replete with examples.

Alright...

While criticism might sell... from the con to the lib... from the pulpit to the pew..

I will go on record as saying I see no critical spirit in the songs that Casting Crowns and many other similar artists. I also believe that, from songs to sermons, messages that challenge the soul do also sell and, as always, one mans challenge is another mans criticism.

This is my favorite CC song as well.
