Re: Little Rock Dedication
Our church people for some time had been taking up an offering once a month to "slay the giant" that was to pay off the building. Bro. Holmes would not dedicate the church until it was payed off. Recently what was left on the debt was paid off toataly by a memeber of the church. And yes, the whole note in the beginning was 24 million. I'm not just saying it because this is my church, but I have never walked into any church and felt what I felt there the 1st time I ever walked in. There is prayer 24/7. We have over 1,500 people a week, (Not the same ones counted) signing in for prayer. People who don't even come there to church know that there are people praying there all the time and they come by just to come in a pray. it is trully awesome, not counting the fact that Bro. Holmes is a very compasionate and caring pastor. Wonderful man and so is his family. This was a great campmeeting !!! If the Lord tarries, we'll do it again next year and hopefully Sis. Alvear will be there along with her husband and son.

I'm quite sure He did. And I don't have to have been there to know that.

Although he is an ultra con and I disagree with him about many things by all account Pastor Holmes is a great man. It is something when you have never heard a bad word about man from either the ultra cons, cons, mods, or libs!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Pastor Holmes' father and aging mother were great people of prayer with a burden for the lost they passed that on unto their son. I do not see him very often but Bro.Holmes is a very humble man,

Re: Little Rock Dedication
Last year I had the opportunity to attend the music conference in @ FPC of North Little Rock. I must say the people are very nice and the Spirit is easily felt there. The most memorable part of my visit was the last night of the music conference when nearly everyone had left after the service and festivities. About five of my friends and me sat toward the very back of a dimly let Sanctuary and a Brother from there played the pipe organ. I felt like weeping do to the presence of God I felt in that place. My visit there was so relieving, it saddens me that none of the churches that I've attended here have had that same affect. Maybe it's due to a lack of burden and/or a spirit of compromise.

Mat 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer...
What a great testimony for a church to have.
Pro 14:4 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
Glory to God and honor to whom honor is due!
