Re: If Obama was Prez during Katrina..

Please excuse my ignorance, but why are we rebuilding N.O. in the first place? Wouldn't make sense to just resettle them in Wyoming and Utah and Montana and other places where they don't start out in a city that is way below sea level that sits on the water?

N.O. smelled bad BEFORE the hurricanes-- have no desire to visit there now.

Did Obama vote against the Iraq war? Actually... no he didn't.

July '04, Barack Obama in terms of how he would have voted on the war: “I’m not privy to Senate intelligence reports. What would I have done? I don’t know.” (He wasn't in the US Senate yet, and didn't have a vote.)
Fact is, if he did have a vote, we really don't know if he would have voted any different from the majority of the Democrats.

I don't think there would have been a difference Coop. The gov't. stays pretty much the same no matter who's President. FEMA is mess up big time.

If Obama was president would every jet be as secure as Air Force One??

I know he has good communication to make it happen.

Like when our parish in north La. sent school buses down there to evacuate people from the Superdome and they wouldn't get on them b/c they didn't have a/c. Or when I know a Nat. Guard who personally told me that some of them REFUSED to eat the MRE's they handed out b/c they didn't taste good. THAT"S the stuff they didn't tell u on the news! Of course there were those who suffered badly, but those other stories didn't sit well with us. But that's N.O. for you. Always has been...always will be.
A lot of people on here don't know the whole story and only saw what was on the news. I was ready to come back to Da Parish, but our house was flooded to the roof.

One of the anchor women on the news was outraged at the sight of army tanks policing the city/Nat Guard there with guns drawn, etc. "This is America" she gasped "..not Iraq!" LOL! I'm guessing she's never been to the ninth ward after dark! Iraq is safer at times!
That's for sure. We lived about 5 miles from the Lower 9th Ward and there was atleast a few killings there a night.

the question here related to Obama is difficult. Who really knows? Obama has no experience in running anything. the largest organization he has run is his Senate Staff and his campaign. we really dont know with Obama if things would have been better.

we do know he has no real experience that lends itself to being commander in chief and cheif executive of the United States.

His resume proves that.
And how many issues has he NOT voted on since he has been in his position?

Bro,

There were many people that could of gotten out, but chose to stay and that isn't the fault of Nagin, Blanco, or the US Government.

Note: The people that are alive after Katrina are not victims, but survivors.
