What I see on one side is a disreguard for standards in general, then from the other side I see men trying to carve the law in (wo)men's hearts, instead of preaching the Word and letting God carve His own word in men's hearts.

This is good. I don't believe most mature Christians have a problem with offense or rather, strong words coming from the pulpit. If it is of God, the cutting will begin, but then God steps in, confirms His Word and begins the healing process.

When it isn't of God, the wound is left to fester and most of the time it cannot heal.

2. Social works with our faith.

I could go on forever. The point is that we are quite selective with the portions of scripture we choose to view as standards.
