Re: The Real Delegate Count - it's not over
Is it customary to name a VP running mate before the convention?

The rest of us understand that defeating Obama is the MOST important thing right now.

He may be a Muslim, you can't actually prove that. We can prove he is a radical leftist liberal. Looks like a lot of Republicans who haven't changed a thing.
I am wondering why you don't care that the RNC is committing voter fraud and are only worried about winning against Obama even if our side is trying to win with dishonesty. That's the same mantra as saying it's stupid to stand on principle if you can't win with them.
All law abiding, God fearing Republicans who give a rip about the future of this country and this party, need to join this movement on principle alone. Conservatives sit around and gripe all day long and post anti-Obama things. That won’t change jack.
Our party must be cleaned up and purged if we are going to win the war against socialism. Backing Romney changes nothing. Conservatives were easy to beat in the last two primaries because they are disjointed. They need a new winning strategy and they need to learn from the Paul movement. How difficult is this to understand?
I can't see the end game yet, but I do know this is unbelievably corrupt. They did the same thing to Paul last primary; it is just that nobody knew about it.
Did you know Paul had a convention the night of the RNC convention and they had over ten thousand people there? There was also a Paul supporter march on DC that was tens of thousands of people. No news and continual blackouts in the media.
How long do the elites and crooks think they can hold this movement back? This time they were more organized and technology is better on the internet. I have posted that there are a bunch more lawsuits planned after this one gets dealt with. I'm sure after Nebraska; there will be a bunch more evidence of corruption.
This is not how it is supposed to work in America. This is wrong. I don’t want Paul to be president, but the actions against his cause and legal rights, is beyond contemptible.
And any Republican that doesn’t side with this on principle alone is part of the problem. The point is that this is not how things are supposed to be done in this country. And if these actions are coming out of our party, do you think we might have a problem?

PO I think this shows the WHOLE voting spectrum needs to be investigated. I am still not convinced BO really won the election legally. Heard to many rumors.
However, with the stakes as high as they are something needs to be done. And if the RNC doesn't open their eyes to what the majority republicans want they are going to be history. I foresee a new party developing possibly called the "Tea Party" if things don't drastically change. JMO

I agree and I think I would like to go back to hand ballots and get rid of the machines. The results can be changed. Just not trustworthy.
The Tea Party started out with huge passion, but not wanting a leader, it became quickly unorganized. You just can't start something like that without a strong leader to keep it on the rails.
I don't know if we could have a third party. Although, I've been reading that Gary Johnson may get a lot of votes in November because of how Romney has handled the primaries. The comments have been that because he is not the average Libertarian, being a successful two-term Governor, it could open up the door for a stronger third party. Not that he would win, but the third party would gain some momentum in the future. I'm for that. The two-party system needs to be strongly challenged. Now, if the Republicans lose in November, it could force them to regroup. I don't have high hopes for that, but they could have a rude awakening.

Still waiting on the live Stream link. I didn't forget about you wanting that, DM.
This is an update from Ben Swann at Reality Check:
An update on the 5 state plurality issue and the Ron Paul campaign. I have been in contact with a number of people and here is what I know so far:
1. Paul has a majority of delegates in at least 7 states. Colorado (but many are uncommitted), Nevada (which unless a judge intervenes will probably be considered bound), Massachusetts (where the GOP de-credentialed delegates), Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, Louisana (which has a combination of bound and unbound delegates, unbound are Congressional District delegates the vast majority of which are Paul's)
2. If you look at Rule 40 in the RNC rules, it requires a plurality of at least 5 states in order to have a name entered into nomination.
3. Apparently "bound" states like Nevada cannot enter Paul's name into nomination because they are "bound" to Romney. Again, this issue is VERY QUESTIONABLE since the RNC does not consider any delegates bound... and this isn't even in a round of voting. Plus, the RNC rule 40 makes NO distiction between bound and unbound.. simply says a candidate needs a plurality of delegates from at least 5 states.
4. Winning Nebraska's unbound delegates would give a 5th unbound state to Paul's column.
5. Federal lawsuit to declare all delegates unbound is still pending
6. Delegates at the RNC could argue that their "binding" is ONLY to vote for a candidate in the first round and has no weight on whether they place a name in nomination.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly.. the rules of the 2012 Republican National Convention won't be decided until the RNC, therefore it will be up to liberty delegates to wage their strategy and influence the convention as best they can.

There is a time for everything. NOW the most important thing is defeating the lib/socialist in office.
There is no question that there are shady things that go on with both parties. They should be cleaned up. Right now isn't the time. Your argument is that now the GOP must be cleaned up, even if it destroys the nominee and hands Obama 4 more years.
Essentially you are arguing that while the house is on fire, burning to the ground, you should try to fix the faulty wiring instead of getting the kids out and putting out the fire.
I would also venture to bet that if Newt were the nominee you wouldn't be nearly as "outraged" as you are over all this since Mitt is the nominee. You would probably not be in nearly as big a hurry to see the GOP picked to pieces.

If Newt and the GOP were pulling the same dishonesty in the primaries, you think I wouldn't be outraged? Think again.
We fix nothing, in this country, with continued dishonesty on both sides. I want the system to be fair even if others don't really care and even if my words fall on deaf ears.
