I just meant that, while I am sure we agree conceptually with what I wrote, when it comes down to practical terms of deciding what "goes beyond the word of God" we would part company.

I enjoyed your post. Good thoughts!

When I ask why I am told (keep in mind this is from women about working for other women) it is that women are much harder to work for. They are more demanding and if you cross them never forget.

So issues working for a woman may not be any problem on your part but just something natural.
Well, it could be some of it. Most of my trust issues come from my mother and older sister.. I just have some difficulty there. Major manipulation on part of a lot of women I know..... just can't deal with it.

But I know the survey was right.. most women do have some difficulty working for a another woman.

I know how women are.. that's for sure. Men are much less complicated (IMO).

The widow took God and Elijah at their word and did what she was asked. She obeyed after the promise, but before the production. The promises of God are often dependent on our obedience to God. Abraham had to go out from his homeland before he could get to the Promised Land. Moses had to stretch out his rod before the red sea would part. Joshua and his army had to march around Jericho for seven days before the walls fell down and the widow had to use up her last bit of flour and oil before God provided more.

Obedience and attitude go hand in hand. They are correlated. What is the relationship between motive and obedience? The Jews of Jesus’ days gave, prayed and fasted and yet Jesus condemned them for it (Matthew 6:1-18). They were doing the right things in obedience and yet were condemned. Why? Jesus exposed that they were doing it for show and praise of men but not to give God glory. Their motives were not pure. They were not humble, but proud and self-promoting.

What is the relationship between correctness and obedience? Plainly, it is MOTIVE.

I think the followers of Jim Jones obeyed and had confidence in their shepherd! How will these folks answer on judgment day?

"I was just doing what the man of God set over me asked me to do!"

Will that be acceptable? I don't think so!

That type of obedience is what exists in the Catholic Church that only the priests can understand the mysteries of God.

In our Church everyone is encouraged to read the Bible. Visitors are provided with one to follow along with the preaching/teaching.
