Well, I'm not gonna speak for Carey, but I did think it was a tad hypocritical for Myles to rag on American missionaries who required expensive lifestyles on the field and said they should be more like native pastors who seem to get by on alot less. So it seems that Myles is asking American missionaries to live sparse lifestyles when he personally doesn't. That appears hypocritical.
There were lots of things Myles said that I thought were great. But that was one that made me cringe, especially as I looked at his waistline and looked around the gaudy church and the humungous, expensive pulpit he was preaching behind.

Who is myles?
I knowwhen I attended a church where the pastor drove the most expensive cadillac one could buy (also one of the nicest houses in a city of 50,000 people) and he and his parents owned blocks and blocks of rent property .throughout the city. Some of the people that I would try to witness to would always say that the pastor was getting rich off of his people. In other words, his lifestyle seemed to turn potential disciples away.

No real problem exists over the use of "The Name" in everthing else done in the Church. Why then should there exist great controversy over the use of the "The Name of the Godhead" in water baptism?

Obviously they can and do. Doesn't mean everybody has to think it is right and approve.
Moderation would be the key word here. It is a biblical principle very selectively applied.
