I don't want her to be lost.
Sounds to me like she has some strong personal convictions. She is certainly allowed to feel that way.
To him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not to him it is sin. That speaks of personal convictions IMO. I do believe that if you believe something is wrong, then don't do it. It will become sin to you as a result.
Others may disagree, but again if there is biblical foundation for it, then to err on the side of caution would probably be the best route.

I agree with you on many issues as you well know. You may be more conservative in some ways than the wife and I, but by and large we are in agreement.

We do not wear wedding bands, fancy watches, fancy clothes, etc. We just don't feel like that is good stewardship of the money that God has entrusted to us. Further, we don't feel that we should be flashy in any way as to draw unwanted attention from the opposite sex.

Let's face it: generally speaking, the finest clothes and watches et al are worn to be noticed. We want others to see us either at our best or maybe for other reasons. We enjoy the compliments bestowed which can cause us to spend a lot more money on things instead of on the kingdom.
A few years ago I bought my wife a silk dress. It cost $500. I liked it on her. It was very modest, but obviously pricey. We took it home. She would not wear it and one night I could not sleep. I tossed and turned.
I got up to pray and the Lord showed me how foolish it was to try to impress others with extravegance. We took it back with my wife's consent.
A few days later, we were in a close-out store for lady's. Ther was a hand painted silk dress there that was simple, yet made my wife look lovely. We bought it for a mere $35. What a blessing!
And to think I was going to waste another $465.00 on a similar product just to impress someone else.

Wearing jewelry is not an investment. All jewlery is bought at a loss that is generally around 90%. It takes years, literally decades to recoupe the loss so it is not even a valid argument.
Buying and selling gold is a valid investment since it has lasting value in and of itself. I have traded in it in times past.

Have any scripture where God's Word speaks of rings on toes, nose, ears, tongue and everywhere else? If God's fer it, I'm fer it. If God is agin it, I'm agin it.

Btw, why use the words, "let the people...?" You and I are not going to LET anyone do anything, nor will you and I allow anyone to do anything...nothing at all. You need not use the word "let." People do what they want to do from their heart. There is no "letting" to it.
That's because he thinks it's his job to tell people what to do and how to live, Bro Strange.

I think its a double standard to say its okay to wear a 5000K rock on your finger but to say its wrong for a women to wear a $10 pair of earrings from walmart.. makes absolutely no sense.. if its okay on your finger its okay in the ears around the neck or anywhere else for that matter... and thats my 2 cents..
Yes, it is OK so just go ahead and put a little sparkle on the wifey.
