What article of the constitution addresses this?
Apparently it's only deemed unconstitutional for the government to impose penalties on such things.

More importantly how are campaign finance laws legal in light of such a ruling?

So, the skinny is that Ken Cuccinelli and others need to get some modifications in the Rules Committee and is open to brokering an agreement with Priebus to get that done by not whipping votes for Conscience Clause.

Priebus had someone on the rules committee lie and say a printer was broken, so they went on a break in order to allow Priebus to meet secretly with Mike Lee and a couple others to try and force them to abandon the #freethedelegates issue.

Good. I'd hate to see Lee and others humiliated and lose all credibility as they are about to.

It is very contentious this year. If they adopt it for future elections, I will be satisfied. If not, we live to fight another day.

Whatever happens I worked and supported the best of the best. That is enough to make me sleep well at night. No regrets.

Anyone supporting Trump has lost their credibility. Hucksterbee saying that Flake won't get favors under a Trump Administration is something you'd expect from these pack of thugs who pretend to be outsider elites. Pitiful and damaging.

po - this is what makes you come off as somewhat over the top.
And if you are representative of Cruz inner core supporters, that is a bad representation.
Some day, Cruz may need those who will vote for Trump to vote for him.
And if you have alienated those individuals, you will most likely lose.

Sort of like Westboro Baptist...

these are the rules of the game NOW. everyone knew the rules going in on this round.

what happened in 1976 doesn't matter now.

and changing some point in history changes everything that happened after...

What if Reagan won that battle and won the nomination in 76?
No republican beats the democrat in that election.

then what do we get in 80? we get a squish like ford. at best.

so im good with how history worked out.

and I am not willing to change the rules of the road right now.

Trump won.

The only way republicans lose this election is by dumping Trump.
if we do that then Hillary appoints 3 SCOTUS... and maybe 4.
Scalia replaced by a Prog
Kennedy replaced by a Prog
Ginsburg replaced by a Prog
possibly
Thomas replaced by a Prog

im not willing to do that to America.
