On another note the clean shaven, suit and tie people reminded me of politicians and businessmen who to many are very untrustworthy.

I can sum up my thoughts on "platform standards" in two words, Hog and Wash!!!
The only rule on my platform is, "Stay in the Word"!

Prax you must know instinctively that excluding ministers or teachers on this basis is wrong.
It is hypocritical nonsense when TF Tenney's good buddy Edwin Edwards was invited to sit up on and annually speak from your platforms at your annual campmeetings but men with beards were not.

- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

That was evident from earlier post. I am wondering however IF an organization does is this indicative that the organization itself, and thus the leadership, does not actually follow the teachings of the bible and if they do not how can they possibly be the holders of the 'way, truth, and life'?
If they are not then how many deceived over the years have followed the wrong path?

Re: Platform Standards
The platform is the last bastion of old time standards.
Pretty much everyone now agrees that there aren't any Biblical prohibitions against jewelry, make-up, pants, TV, etc so the last weapon at the disposal of big fat meanie pastors is "Submit to my traditions or sit your butt down in the pew forever."
As the Boomer generation of pastors passes we will find that this last bastion isn't very strong.

Funny. As if your opinion (or the opinion of any man) supersedes Bible principle?
