It's more important for me to be right with God than to win an argument. I still hold to the fact that I can and might be wrong.
Dave,
That is a good attitude for us all. However, our heritage is such that "we are right and everybody else is wrong". A big dose of humility is good for us all. I have tremendous confidence in the loving heavenly Father that I have come to know more personally. But doubt that everything I understand today is perfect in every aspect.

have we ever had a rockem sockem good time when we get together?
I am still the exact same guy you and Dee broke bread with the first time we met. My heart is still the same and I still just as open to your fellowship knowing you as i was then not knowing you!
My problem isn't with the infernal document (although I think its stupid). My problem is with the infernal freaky-cons who demand everyone who doesn't see things through their coffee-stirrer view is lost, and dying and going to Hell on a tricycle.
I have no intention of leaving, if for nothing else than to make their lives miserable. tic If you will notice, I have not once bashed the UPC. I have, however, railed against the supposed old-time warpos that polarize the movement.
I beleive the term you used last night was "small minority"....just for clarity.

I've long maintained that if I didn't agree with an organization that I simply wouldn't be a part of it. Yes, I have friends that are UPC but I also have some that aren't.
I don't make a living being UPC. I survive by the grace of God because I'm a Man of God. I suspect you do too.
It has long strained my understanding that people (I have no clue if your are or aren't one of them) that continually blast the organization and disagree with so much of what it stands for would ever want to stay in it.
To change it? There are enough flavors of Pentecost out there they could find something more akin to their beliefs in a lot of places.
To keep fellowship? Why seek fellowship with those you vehemently disagree with?
To keep a Church? Disaffiliation is easy enough to do... if even needed as many are not affiliated.
If I disagreed with so much of what it stood for I would find another group and I surely wouldn't sign the, what was it called... ? The 'infernal' statement?
I guess my brand of integrity simply wouldn't allow it.
I don't think PP disagrees with that much at all, what he has said has been blown completely out of portion. Does this not show shallowness of the fellowhip, if I disagree in one point (or three) I am tainted? PP made a very valid point about slamming seekers with extra biblical requirements. Accept on this forum there does not appear to be a safe place for pastors to be open and have honest discussion. Don't shake the web you might make me look bad to those I preach to?
