I quit drinking cokes a while back... I don't miss them, and their absence from my life does not make me bitter. I have done the same thing with religion... I can't put it any more simply than that.

I don't have a problem with other people who still enjoy drinking coke, some people need that in their life for them to be happy. I wish everyone who drinks coke all the best and am not offended when someone who drinks coke wishes me all the best...

You've obviously never been spiritually abused. Having His Spirit does not prevent someone from being hurt, abused, used, or taken advantage of. Jesus will ultimately bring complete healing, however.

My pot-wielding friend, in all the years I have been reading posts by SE, i have never seen him post anything that sounded like bitterness toward the UPC.

Disagreement with it, yes.

But nothing even remotely similar to bitterness.

Do you have some of the posts where he expresses that bitterness so I can see them?

Subdued, I've experienced more abuse than anyone here would possibly believe( I suppose it goes with the calling, or at least thats what I've been told). I have been emotionally, and physically abused by people who I love. I have been ostasized, lied about, beaten black and blue, sexually molested and the story goes on and on. I do not dwell, nor ALLOW those things to affect my spirit. To be spiritually abused is a choice, I will not choose to give satan credit for any spiritual damage.
