I was at work tonight and my co-worker was speaking to the director of nursing about two women I know well that we used to work with in another faciltiy.
Both women wear skirts and have long, uncut hair. One is a UPC minister's wife and the other is a Branhamite follower.
My co-worker described them as people 'who believe the like Rama Bahama bunch'. Who are the 'Rama Bahama' people? They are the local cult group in this town who's women dress in skirts and have long, uncut hair.
Yeah, what a witness the UPC women have in this town. Is it any wonder that the church here hasn't grown in the several decades it's been here?
We have had folks visit and were saved that were attracted by the appearance of our godly looking saints. And that testimony is found in many churches. Some don't believe it here but we have the folks so who cares.
A saint(a man) was told by his employer that he and his wife was in a local resturant and some of our young ladies came in. At the table next to them were a group of business men and the comment was made by one of these men "Now there are some Christian young ladies you can tell by their dress."
The saint's employer's wife said we have been here the whole time and they haven't said anything about us being Christians. Well the answer was right in front of them. You may look the part and not be the part but you CANNOT be the part and not look the part.
I wonder what those men would have said it young men entered instead of the young women.
I don't want someone to know I'm a Christian by the clothes I have on. I'd rather have them see me with my Jesus on.

No one said anything about the power coming out of her hair
the spirit that hit the place came down from glory
joy, don't attempt to take away peoples' experiences with God
I really think that is dangerous. you should stop trying to figure God out with nothing more than human reasoning. Do you think that Namon would have recieved his healing if he tried to figure God out ??? God's ways are not ours and his ways are far above our feeble attempts to analyze the power of God
Thad, read this part again, especially the bolded parts:
Quote:
He showed me my Glory. He showed me how powerful it is, how awesome it is. She went on to tell us that it's not the length of our hair, but it's the power in it. She said that when people see your hair and comment on how beautiful it is, it's not because it's beautiful it's because they are feeling the power of God come out from it.
If you want to believe that you will feel the power of God coming out of your pastor's wife's hair when she takes it down on the platform, you go right ahead and shockamoo, but I won't be privy to such foolishness.

It has happened and some are saved today and IF only ONE came because of it that would be enough. The value of one soul.
Hmmm...along with what Brother Blackwell said....why not just parade them all on TV and then have a sign that reads "visit your local UPC" or some other Onenes org? Wow! talk about making soul winning easy and effective. You know how many people watch TV? All we gotta do is make sure they see the hair dragging on the ground and BOOM! Instant harvest!
you're not being racial are you?? I sure hope they wouldn't take it that way if they saw this thread perhaps thinking that you are implying their hair is inferior
Being racial? Because I mention black folks? Are we that paranoid that we cannot speak about other races now or what?
If I were black, I would be offended at the comments made about white women's long, uncut hair and how sensual and beautiful it is and how much different she looks than the men when there is no way I could say that about myself, even if I never cut my hair.
I'm not the one implying their hair is inferior, it's the people making such comments in the above paragraph who are doing that.

Bump for all you people that thought this was an anti long hair thread or this was about poopooing an esperience with God...
The above is THE reason for this thread.
Notice "it's the poewr IN IT (hair)" and "they are feeling the power of God come OUT from it (hair)"......
That is what was disturbing, not her saying she felt God nor that they have long uncut hair, but the doctrine that teaches in HER OWN WORDS that power (God's power/Spirit) is coming OUT of her hair...yikes! Come on people, we can believe in God and miracles, but that is just weird, let alone unbiblical. BTW where does the power of God come out of on the man? Or is he powerless unless married to a woman with uncut hair?
Here Thad, read this. Prax gets it.

Most whities (hehe) probably have no idea how hard it is to straighten black hair too
I have a white friend of mine who has very curly hair and it doesn't grow any longer than her shoulders. From the comments I've read here tonight, her hair doesn't qualify either.
