So, let CS make hornets with his kids.
Right on sis.

George L. Glass, Sr. was one of my great heroes in the faith.

Geo Glass was quite a man in his young years. He used to box bare fisted in the old Jack Dempsey style. He could whip most anyone. As a young man, he received the Holy Ghost and went into the ministry shortly afterwards. He became the Prince of Preachers among us.

Once, after finishing one of his early sermons, two men met him out behind the brush arbor to inform him that they were going to give him the whipping of his for becoming a Holy Roller. Brother Glass asked them if he could pray before he received his whipping. They granted him permission.

Brother Glass knelt down to pray while those two men stood nearby. He prayed, "God you know that I've started out to be a christian and that I will never deny you. You also have heard the threat from these two men. These two men know that I could whip either one or both of them any day. I now ask you to deliver me from this evil but if you do not, when I get up from here, I intend to light into these two men like an angry she-bear and whip them to within an inch of their lives. So, I ask you to forgive me of this deed that I am about to do."

Brother Glass finished praying, got up and looked around. Those two men were not to be found anywhere. It seems that they suddenly remembered to be somewhere else...and quickly.

Imagine that!

Where does the Bible say this?

That doesn't make him not a Christian.

When Paul said, "I appeal to Rome", he was being a Christian man and standing up for himself. He could have stood there and said nothing.
You mean the way that Jesus said nothing?

Excellent story, Brother Strange! He could have and would have, but didn't need to after all!

I've heard him tell that story many times!

Great, God kept him from sinning!

Not that any of us are there yet but aren't we supposed to be like Jesus?

And trying to justify sin is acceptable? No one here said anything about instant attainment of perfection. The point you either missed or are trying to dance around is that our being imperfect does not justify doing what's wrong. As for your ridiculous comment about "rigid adherence," do you REALLY think God allows any flexibility when it comes to obeying His commands? Saul tried making your argument and God took his kingdom away from him. Uzzah was killed BY GOD because there was not "rigid adherence" to God's command.

Again, NO ONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT INSTANT ATTAINMENT!

No one suggested any such thing.

Again, NO ONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT INSTANT ATTAINMENT!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, NO ONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT INSTANT ATTAINMENT!!!!!!!!!!!

I call your attention to Hebrews 7:25-27...

"Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself."

Note also 2 Corinthians 6:17...

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you."

Oh, yes, and some guy who one time said that Jesus used to sit with him and watch Laverne and Shirley or used to splash around in the swimming pool with him had a godly view of Jesus too!
This is so unreal as to be totally UNNATURAL.

You are so far out in OUTER space that there is no basis of conversation.

You can think what you want too but I am positive that Jesus' BOYHOOD was tested by other boys of the same age. He never failed a test. Jesus was not some freaky humanoid.

Paul didn't respond to things in the same manner as Jesus. When they let Paul down in a basket, why didn't they just stand and take what was to come? Jesus would have.

It's preposterous to say that all men just stand around and get whipped on.

The comparison To Jesus is the only one that counts.

We are to walk in his foot steps.

He is the standard.
