"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
Quote from Ethel Goss (widow of 1st UPC Gen Supt. Howard Goss) book "The Winds of God"
American idol is worldly and fleshly, case closed.

I would put money on Adam and Danny being the last two contestants. They both have great voices and are very good looking in their own ways, but I really do think that Adam is going to win it all.
He just knows how to entertain. While Danny has a great voice, I could see how he could get boring after a while. Although Adam may seem a little weird, he is not afraid to take chances. No matter how crazy his performance may seem, he always seems to suck you into it. Well, at least that's what I think, lol.

I thought of you last night when Kellie Pickler came on. They sure have tried to change her image, but when she starts talking, it's the same old "Kellie" as before. We were cracking up when she said she was trying not to "bust a seam".
So GLAD that Scott is gone! He really was not a good singer and didn't belong there. Being blind does not earn you a spot in a singing competition!
I'm SO GLAD that for (I think) the first time that I can recall, www.dialidol.com was wrong about who they picked for the bottom. They had Kris Allen in last place, marked for elimination, but he didn't even land in the bottom three. I'm really glad because I really like him (not as much as Danny) and it would have been a shame for him to leave so early. I don't think he'll win, or is even good enough to win, but I would like him to stay around long enough to get the attention of a record label.

I hope so ... but I guarantee you if she's in last place and voted off, the judges will save her. Simon said there was one person they would've saved last night ... it wasn't Scott and I highly doubt Simon would've saved Anoop. That leaves Lil Rounds.
I'm just baffled with these judges. Rounds has disappointed them each week the past month with lackluster performances, bad song choices and not the best-sounding vocals, yet they continue to talk about how great she is and how she's one of the best on the show.
I just don't agree. It feels as though they're trying to push everyone to vote for her.
