A preacher takes you to a restrant with prices like this, it's got to be OK.... It's his territory, right?

This is just too far way out. Several of us pastors were at a meeting once in an unnamed city in a unnamed state and went to Ruth's Chris there must have been 16 of us. A couple pastors were having an anniversary so they ordered the steak & lobster. We were all going dutch however the host pastor was called away at the end of the meal and when we got ready to go we enquire about our bills and the guy had paid for the whole bunch. But the majority sent him a card with enough money to cover our part. I just cannot imagine the gall and tackiness for someone to do this and stick the host pastor with the bill?

the visiting minister responded "thats fine!"

in the words of this Pastor's wife to me "can you believe ordering a 400-500$ lobster???"

Is this over the top in your opinion ????

Brother Epley, it is my understanding that it was not the visiting preacher who ordered it, but the pastor who had him there.

Yes, me too. I think the most gracious of my guests when pastoring was the Wayne Goodine Trio. We were all set to take them to an expensive Italian Restaurant and Elisabeth Goodine asked for a peanut butter sandwich...

The Pastor could have blessed the evangelist with the $400.00...it would have been more impressive than eating a $400.00 Lobster...I would have thought if he ordered that then no matter what he paid me for preaching was too small!

Did anyone think to ask why the pastor took the visiting minister to a place with a $500 lobster?

Since this is a very well known visiting preacher, I would assume the local pastor wanted to treat him to a nice restaurant.

Maybe the visiting preacher was stiffed in his pay for coming to preach, so he took it out in food!
