Honestly I think if the admins had perhaps seen Timmy's overall agenda, especially in his signature that seems to portray an effort to subvert faith in the Pentecostal experience and belief, they would have not allowed him to post what he posts.
But, again, Timmy is a good person. He's got great sense of humour, and is kind. But to use that to more kindly subvert faith is a bit scary, in my opinion.
It reminds me of one brother in the Lord. He actually allows his younger kids to watch violence and sex in film, for the purpose of having them be exposed to it with him, since he reasons it's better than their exposure amongst sinners. I think that reasoning is way out of line, myself. So to say people will be exposed to those who subvert faith, so we might as well allow them on the forum, as notofworks suggested, is also way out of line.
Sorry for the diversion. But I did not mean to make this thread about Timmy. Sorry, Timmy. These guys just keep asking. Anyway, that is all I will say here. The admins can do what they choose. I personally would not allow this if I was an admin, as on my own forum. But that's just me.
And I think this (the bolded) is what causes people, especially young people, to walk away from the faith in droves. We appear paranoid of dissenters and afraid of their arguments. We have the appearance of not being convinced enough about our faith to allow it to be questioned.
If I have a red car and someone wants to argue it's blue, I'll never have a problem with that.
I, for one, welcome Timmy's questions and even his doubts. I'm a Lead Pastor with a church that made up almost completely of recently unchurched people and I welcome and encourage them to voice and investigate their doubts. It's healthy. And if our values can't be fully investigated, we're just another cult pushing craziness.
BTW, my early AFF posts show quite a different Timmy from the one you know and love, now. I was still calling myself a Christian, still open to the idea of inspired scriptures and the doctrines derived from them. Being ex-AG, I wanted to learn more about the "other" Pentecostals. And AFF is very educational, in that regard!

So now the admins are blind and cannot see Timmy's agenda or his signature...

I never said THAT! Whew. Come on, J.

Yes, I think his siggy is pretty clear and I also know that Admin is very aware of his position.
While I'm not in Timmy's corner completely, idealistically, I too support virtually none of the "apostolic" creeds. And I, too, am thankful I'm allowed to participate.

Timmy once believed in inspired scripture! How could you Timmy! You was my hero and now I learn that you've not always been this super subtle dissenter trying to sway people to your agnostic agenda JKJK

So what does the bolded mean, if it isn't saying the admins can't see what timmy is actually doing?

I think Mike's point was regarding "Timmy: The Early Years" (not available in stores! ), when it wasn't abundantly clear. I think I've always had a link in my profile to the ex-pentecostals main board, but the link to the outreach board wasn't always in my sig line.
Shoot, my "agenda" wasn't clear to me, back then! But I've never misrepresented myself, and was always up front about my being ex-Pentecostal.
I'm living proof of the slippery slope principle!
