Most pastors that I know are like me, we go on recommendations from other pastors. We find out about them and meet them. if there is any doubt they are told what we expect and believe. I want use any mane who doesn't have close to the same standards as we do.

We've had preachers come by and they ask, "is there anything you don't let on your platform"? From what I've seen, and I come from a VERY strict church. ( So tight it was hard for the preacher to live it! ) Big deals weren't made out of minor things. Our pastor did speak with them if there was something that was definitely "off limits"... I think I am safe to say that their should be communication on both sides..... when it was personal convictions, he didn't bother with it. When it came down to the Word of God...he would talk to the evangelist.... about what was preached at the church. Usually the evangelist has an understanding attitude....

I can understand that.
But some things are trivial to me that causes an evangelist not to get a revival.
Such as his wife having her hair down or a bow in her hair.
IMO this is nonesense.
If she was wearing pants I could see it, as most all the churches agree on this issue.

Some things are trivial but some aren't
Example I won't use a man is they wear rings, short sleeves. if she wear high splits. I don't want a man in the pulpit that watches movies or follows sports. To me these are major things.

Yes I do, I am very careful of who preaches here. I don't use anyone whom I don't know.

The Bible says know them that labor among you so I agree this is wisdom.
However, how do the young ministers get started if their pastor doesn't help them?

If they play or believe that it is alright to play org sports, do they follow, in that they listen or watch them.
