Re: Sarah Palin for GOP Vice President

Sarah Palin has a couple of powerful things going for her.

1. She's a conservative woman with children. Married young mothers will relate to her.

2. Her son is serving in Iraq in the Army. Action speaks louder than words when it comes to supporting out military! Military families will relate to her.

3. Her baby son has Downs Syndrome. She will have sympathy from all families that have ever dealt with raising a disabled child. Most folks have soft hearts when it comes to this type of thing.

I think John McCain hit a home run!

That's all oooey goooey emotional stuff (I agree with most of it by the way). However, McCain is old and could die half way through his term...is she ready to face Putin and a militarily belligerent Russia? Russia doesn't someone to drive their kids to a soccar game or someone to sell them tupperware. Can she lead the world if things start spinning out of control?

McCain's age makes this a serious issue. Sure, Obama is just as inexperienced in my opinion, but he has Biden by his side. And if something happens to Obama, Biden is still there. If something happens to McCain with a threatening Russia expanding their military presence in the world, I'm not confident she has what it takes to deal with them. I mean, she's very cute, but I think she'd crack up.

We'll see in the upcoming debates how tough she is! Would you change your mind if she holds her own against Biden and can look him sternly right in the eye?

No. Anyone can put on a show and play with a poker face. I need to know she can rally the international community, nuke a Russian city, or rapidly deploy a surgical military strike at 3am if need be. McCain and Biden have experience that would be valuable in a crisis. But like I said, if something happens to McCain all that experience is gone.....but not only is Biden by the side of Obama on international issues, he's there if Obama is taken out. I'm not comfortable with the fate of the free world being one heart beat away from falling into the hands of a soccar mom...no matter how cute she is.
