Im not saying the idea of keeping illegals out is a bad idea. You missed the point. My point was that tea partiers are to rabid about the idea that they will settle for any one that even promises to do something about it.

The anger against Congress and past inaction has certainly helped Trump. This guy is as unknown as obama was, but even obama had a consistent record. There is absolutely no record of any consistency with Trump -- as a liberal or as the conservative he's pretending to be now. You don't like his policy...wait a bit, he'll likely clarify it.

I do not think that I am a member of the Tea Party, but I do believe that illegal immigration is the most important issue facing the country today.
And the only candidate willing to address it is Trump.

That's not entirely true. Trump co-opted the issue and exaggerated it to win support. Cruz and Rubio have addressed immigration well before Trump decided he would run for POTUS.

According to latest reports, approx 1.5 million illegals come here every year now. That's a whole new major metropolitan area EACH YEAR being added to the population... illegally.

They submitted bills and amendments about it. Rubio was rightly denied his amnesty bill, and Cruz's amendment failed, but they did more than "normal lip service." What do you expect a member of Congress to do? They're not the POTUS. They're not the Speaker or Majority Leader. The average member has ZERO control over the schedule and submittal of bills and amendments.
