I still believe they're setting the Donald up for a post-GOP convention surprise. The media will turn quickly if Trump wins the nomination. All his shady business dealings, all his off the record conversations, all the stuff they've shied away from so far will come out and Trump will drop like a rock and lose as badly or worse than Romney lost in 2012.

There will be an October suprise waiting for whoever the GOP candidate is, even Cruz. Thus far, Trump has been the only one to withstand media attacks and probably is the only GOP candidate that can survive an October surprise.

Trump has withstood himself thus far. I haven't seen much of the media attacking Trump independent of Trump saying something incredibly controversial and the media responding.

It may be a bit different when the media begins to actually attack him.

First thing the media could do is chip away at the personna Trump has crafted about himself: that he's self-funded; that people come to him for money, not the other way around. Trump has built himself up as someone who doesn't ask or need other's money.

But he needed Soros' $160 million and $640 million more from Deutsche Bank to build his tower in Chicago. Then he was sued for bid rigging on the deal.

Trump is holding on to his tax info for a reason. Typically candidates have released the info by now. But Trump is still holding out. Why?

Shouldn't be too hard for the media to dig into his deals and finances.

What media have you been watching/listening to? They have been declaring his demise every week "this time he's gone too far"...they haven't been fawning over him, rather been dismissive or mocking of him. Now they have egg on their face. He can withstand anything they send his way. And I'm not a Trump sycophant. I voted for Cruz.

The media has largely been RESPONDING to Trump's own comments. They haven't proactively attacked Trump. Everything the media has done has been in response to something Trump said or did. They haven't dug up or released anything new.

Trump has fewer demons than Hillary. Thing is most of their worst demons are already known and they still get the support they do. The media attacking either will do nothing.

They aren't "waiting", they are part of the "process".
