Good grief! Why even be Pentecostal anymore? Let's just mimick Joel Osteen and tell everyone they have a purpose and that God wants them to smile and be happy

On a wave of emotion, the man at the front of the church broke into a language only he and his God could understand.
"Ah le ah ne al la ne," said Bill Siordia, a worshiper at The Pentecostals of Pleasanton, a small congregation in the San Francisco Bay Area. With closed eyes and palms raised skyward, he continued in a whispered rush. "Ma ne ah ne ta la ah ka wa."

Is this supposed to be flattering? A "wave of emotion"? ah le ah ne al la ne?
I always wondered why the mockers break tongues down into it's syllables...why isn't it Ahleah neallane?

I just sang at Dwight McKissic's church 3 weeks ago, he had a conference called " a Conference on the Holy Spirit'
It is unreal, the SBC are taking missionaries off the field because they speak in tongues in private.
very sad.
Quote from USA today;
Many in the SBC do not want to accept the inerrant word of God when it comes to praying in tongues," says Dwight McKissic, pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas, and a leader of the tongue-speaking Baptists. "They see it as irrational, but faith is irrational. I think they have chosen to reject it rather than teach it as God's word."

Yes, my room mate and I were just discussing this issue. America is reeking of immorality. He was telling me of a church he used to attend, pentecostal, where 8 out of 12 girls got pregnant out of wedlock. A guy that had only been there for months was allowed to teach the youth AND after committing fornication was allowed back into that position after just a week or so. A girl who teaches sunday school dates sinners. They dress like hooches. The church he goes to now they dress like hoochies..it's not Pentecostal.

Well, who's to say how it was said since I doubt too many on this board were there.
When tongues first became a phenomenon of note, there were studied that I heard about to determine if the language was real. I don't know where the docs are, but it was my understanding that it was determined that indeed these were real, unknown languages.
Personally, I have heard people speak in spanish (a good friend who knew not a word of it) and in chinese which was interpreted by a lady sitting with our group who spoke Mandarin. That was an experience to say the least. The lady speaking was witnessing in chinese to a friend of mine who didn't believe that tongues were real. He lfet with a different perspective that night.

I have heard many different "known" languages and they sounded like nothing to me, I only knew they were real languages because I was familiar with that kind of langauge. Chinese sounds like nothing to me, but from watching dubbed chinese movies I know this is a real language.
I heard someone say no real language has sentences where every word ends in a vowel. That is absolutely false too. I have seen sentence in spanish where every word ended in a vowel
