I was raised in places where that dignity was called pride.

maybe now that the cold war is over, we are no longer afraid of nuclear annihilation and don't serve God as fervently. Bush scared us with terrorism and iraq war. we are lackadaisical because of Obama? does political situation affect worship?

Amanah, I think you've misunderstood the things which I penned. My point was simply that God has said that as the time for the end draws near, there would be a greater emphasis directed upon worship than there would be regarding righteous - meaning, I believe, we will focus more of our attention upon worshipping Him than in taking heed to and following after the ways of righteousness... not that worship is in any way an unrighteous activity.
Should one worship God? Of course! He is worthy of all of the praise we might give unto Him for the things which He does, and has done, for us. However, I am convinced that this must never be our first concern, or item of importance. God desires that we both embrace and publish truth (i.e., righteousness), and I fear that we, as a corporate body of His saints, have not yet attained the unity of thought and purpose which He demands which will enable us to accomplish that. The disparity of beliefs expressed in this forum alone should provide sufficient, indisputable evidence of this.... it seems we, more often than not, and despite all of the back and forth contentious debating, can never attain a unified, scripturally defined consensus concerning a variety of issues which we should be of the same mind about.
Having said that, the question is whether we are focusing more of our attention upon worship than we are upon righteousness. I, for one, believe that we, as a corporate body of "born again" saints of God, are doing exactly that! For this reason I am inclined to hold to the belief that we are witness to the fulfilling of the aforementioned Azuza Street revival prophetic message.

Love the lady in the white skirt about 1:25 into the clip and how her skirt floats as she shouts!
LOL.....love to see people worship!

Lafon you are right, I did misunderstand what you said.
I'm wondering if we are not falling behind in worship and following the ways of righteousness.
I'm asking God to change me.
I want to repent and be more devoted to him then ever.

Re: It's been a along time since I've seen this
Amanah, I have been in services like that and still am from time to time. However, I cannot say I yearn for those types of meetings. I do tolerate them and try to connect to some degree, but it's not something I see as a goal to achieve nor particularly more spiritual than say a visit to a liturgical Lutheran church I attend on occasion.

Probably Music Conference (NMMC) in the Coliseum in Jackson, MS - this would have been late 80's/early 90's because that's when they moved to the City Auditorium (Thalia Mara Hall).

To say that I miss services like this would be an understatement.
I am at work, fighting back tears.
It was in this kind of environment, as an adult, that I came to know and love the Lord-- my GOD and Savior.
