I read the Forward, and from my biased perspective the pro change faction was much more reasoned and logical. The anti change faction was more emotional.

The entire issue was handled in a very classy way.
I think both sides are missing it for the most part. TV is inevitable just as the Internet is. Internet is already here. We will be able to watch TV and download movies.

What we are failing to do is teach and preach a church into a praying position and filling them with the knowledge and power to have their own walk with God and "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling"....

we don't need more debate on TV. We need more prayer. We need more power. We need more men and women who can pray and wait on God and have the gifts of the Spirit in operation AND influence the rest of the body to do the same.

I would rather we as an organization watch little to no TV because we are in prayer more often, teaching bible studies...so hungry and burdened for the lost that TV just seems like such a waste of time..not because we legislate it and browbeat others over it

Great post Praxeas. Alot of the New Testement was addressing division in the church.2000 years later nothing has changed. If Gods people could ever get past all the bickering and division. What a revival we could have.

I would suggest that emotion carries the day many times in old time Pentecost over logic.

Elisha was just emotional when he said that Samaria would have plenty to eat.....I mean even if God opened the windows of heaven they could not feed everybody in town

Oh, I seriously doubt the debate is over. There will always be those that have more to say about what has already happened. I don't know how the vote will go, but this inevitable. No, I don't like it...but I am not severing fellowship over it, nor is it the end of the church or revival. I'm through debating it. I don't think the case can be won. While it may get voted down this year (or not), it will pass in coming years, regardless.

While I have what I believe is a reasoned argument, and I DO believe that the net and tv are two separate animals--I don't think you can really build that picture in the minds of most people--and I mean good, solid, clear-minded thinkers, too. While I see them as separate, it is just too hard of a case to make...and the case I DO make will be moot in just a VERY short while.
