We had 13 1/2 inches of rain in our area of Nashville over the last two days. I have never in my life seen it rain so hard over two days with hardly any breaks! Simply amazing!
Today I kinda' feel like Noah did after walking out of the ark for the first time after the flood. I've been hunkered down in my house watching the weather warnings on TV for the last two days. Today the sun is shining and I'm venturing out!

Heavenly sunshine!!! Don't think any Tennessean will forget this weekend of horrors!! Praying for all who have lost loved ones and/or homes in this flood. Plenty of work ahead for the state to recover.

We just got our electricity on about an hour ago. It's been out ever since the tornado touched down here. Flooding here is bad. I'm going to walk out and get photos of the flooding on our road in a little while. I can't get far with the van... roads are flooded. Two of three ways out are closed due to water from the Hatchie River being over the road. It's risen 18 inches here in less than 24 hours, and isn't expected to crest until Thursday. Some residents may need a boat to get out of here before the water goes back down. 
Just wanted to check in and let everyone know we are okay if they aren't connected on facebook to have seen the text message post from me before now.
I have some things that thawed in the freezer that I need to go take care of. I'll post tornado damage photos later when I have time to rest and upload them to the computer from the camera.

It's so weird to think the same water that makes our grass grow, waters our vegetation, and splashes waves that are so relaxing can wreck such havoc. Water is amazing!
