I am making light of a non-biblical doctrine. I would be very afraid to be adding to the scripture. In fact, the Book contains a pretty stiff penalty for those who would add to it.

I know that. You know that. Yet the phrase "Obey them..." always seems to be the loop hole around it. It is the catch all used to give "The Man of God" power to basically add anything he wants. To set any rule he wants. In fact there was a thread posted of a sermon talking about this very thing a few weeks ago.
