I have. I have a very old version from like the seventies or eighties.

His books aren't my favorites, either. They never delve very deep, IMO, and never stray beyond the predictable.

Being a world-class author isn't what would top my list for "Qualifications of a Leader."

Really, Abi? You've read Romans and God's Infallible Word?

No, I haven't read those two. I've read four of his books. Essentials of Holiness, In Search of Holiness, Essentials of Oneness Theology, and Essential Doctrines of the Bible.

Personally, I would recommend The Jesus I Never Knew by Phillip Yancey instead.

I don't have to read an entire repertoire to get the feel for an author. Like I said, he's not my favorite. I didn't say they weren't worth reading--it's just that his books restate things I've heard all my life. In other words, "predictable." Capiche?

Re: If I'm Out Of Order...

Im far from being UPC. However if DB teaches Acts 2:38 as the full New Testament standard of salvation that is to be commended in my book.

Now there are many other things they need to be corrected on but in that arena they are defenders and proclaimers of truth.

Then you cannot, emphatically, make that statement about the writings of David Bernard. Just sayin'....

You would really be interested in reading both of them.

Yes, actually I can. Unless he suddenly became a different writer with a totally different style in the books you're recommending.

But since you're insisting...*rolls eyes*

Now I'm going to be FORCED to read them.

I am cooking dinner - ran out of propane on the grill! ARghhhh! Finishing the meat in the oven. Anyway, as I was finishing up I was thinking about what you posted and what I think you are really saying or feeling about the books you said you read is really - "I already know about all of that and so it doesn't do anything for me."

Yes, you are now forced to read them! LOL! We will be requesting a book report as well!
