I can so have it both ways and that is EXACTLY what has happened here.



Both sides are playing with the lives of their fellow citizens in a manner that is not wise.

Political posturing on the health of unhealthy folks who are not able to afford adequate healthcare is wrong unless you intend to help them.

Neither the Democrats or the Republicans are helping those folks.


Healthcare reform without the public option is vain-- an attempt for the President to save face on a plattform that, in part, he was elected on.

The President and his party really messed this up-- and the tactics of the GOP operatives were dirty, manipulative and not genuine.

Those who are fearful and ignorant have shown their fear and ignorance over and over and over....


I hope the GOP is proud!

Many GOP'ers probably are, and that's the sad part to all of this. For many, as long as they stop the Democrat President Obama, "by any means necessary..." then they feel good about themselves.

So, who is lying and who is exaggerating - both sides to some extent? Funny they pulled their "death panel" wording after Palin vehemently tagged it for what it was.

Then they tried to pass that off as a "nut case" statement. If it was so far-fetched, why pull the wording out of the bill?

The exaagerations and lies being spread by GOP operatives to the uninformed and then perpetuated by those same uninformed folks creates an atmosphere void of discussion, filled with the expressions of fear and anger.


The problem with the President and the Dems is that they did not fight back with the truth of their intentions in a forceful and timely manner.

This may be because they do not have a clear idea of that EXACTLY is going to be in the plan.


Healthcare Reform was NEVER about killing old people, never about destroying insurance companies, never about leading us to socialism, never about TAKING options away from folks and never about saving money actual healthcare.

NEWSFLASH-- our public schools and our transportation systems are funded in ways that could be described as "socialist"-- i.e. government run!

The GOP operatives have turned this into something it never was meant to be-- they changed the discussion and the President and his Democrats have been unable to take charge of their own discussion.


Indeed, the public option GIVES the PUBLIC an OPTION-- a way to ensure that they and their families are covered for healthcare when private insurance is too expensive or not available.

13 year old girls don't need to die unnecessarilly because insurance companies refuse to do life saving surgeries that families can't afford.


For the record, medical CO-OPS won't work either-- there will be no means to guarantee affordability for all with this option.

With Obama's plan private insurance with have to meet a new federal definition for coverage that your current plan may not be able to match even if you like it - that within five years.

When the Gov't sets the rules, backed by tax dollars, it will destroy and not compete with the private sector.

We want reform, but not a gov't centered approach.

If you read any portion of the bill, you would see that it is ambiguous in many important areas. The majority of Americans are not comfortable with that. It's just that simple, Jermyn. There isn't much else that can be said on this topic, unless, we can figure out how to make it NOT read as a gov't takeover.
