Does it appear as though she is under duress?

Re: Sarah Palin announces she will resign

I think this is a sad development.

Palin really looked professional the last time I saw on tv. She did an extended interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN.

She did very well. She appeared very prepared and not coached.

From her interview on CNN that I saw recently, there is NO WAY to have seen this comming.

That live interview was not even a month ago.

It did not sound like a politician who was at peace with what she was saying (in my honest opinion). To continue her sports analogy, it didn't sound like the coach who had coached her tenure, and just knew in her heart that it was time to move on and be with her family. The breathing and mannerisms just did not fit with some of the other speeches I've seen her give.

It could all simply be that it's just a stressful day, but my gut tells me there may be more to the story.

I have no clue why she felt like she couldn't successfully end her term as Governor that the people elected her to, but she assured everyone it was the right thing to do for Alaska.

All of her interviews and statements during the election, made me question her, but the announcement today and the way she delivered it makes me think her career in politics may be over.

The McCain aides got this one completely right. She is WEIRD!

You might be weird too, if every moved you made the leftist media demonized you. A half million personal debt, just to defend against the left using public money to wear her down. Every time she traveled they scrutinized every detail to try to find some wrong doing, it is leftist mode of operation, use other people's money to buy support. Tear down so they can implement the goofy policies currently coming out of DC.

American is in trouble, the barbarians are not just at the gate they are in control of government and the media.

Ummm, welcome to American politics. You do remember the effort and money that the right wing nuts spent on tearing down Bill Clinton so they could implement their NeoCon policies from 2000-08 right?

Sarah Palin didn't receive any worse treatment than everyone who runs for President and VP in this country.

Now, I'd agree she apparently hasn't handled it well and that's too bad, but let's not throw a poor Sarah party here.

Re: Sarah Palin announces she will resign

Maybe FOX is willing to give her a show. And the paycheck from FOX would be 10 times more than what she could make as governor.

Although I dont understand her not waiting until 2010. Because if she has quit her obligations to Alaska so that she can concentrate on the 2012 presidential election....stick a fork in her because she's done.

I agree. It's crazy that on the FoxNews site, they are putting that out as a legitimate reason for her to quit in 2009. I think that she can kiss it goodbye if that was her intention.

It's just crazy to me, though, how we are wired in political discussions. Many of those who consider themselves Republican will probably feel almost compelled to defend her. I can imagine that FoxNews would not be putting the 2012 election out there as a legit reason if a prominent Dem had suddenly quit in 2009. ..she didn't even try to use that to justify or explain it.

(of course it works both ways though, with both parties)

Oh please tell me what NeoCon policies were implemented from 2000-08?

Maybe her husband just got tired of the media, comedians and the lib's trashing his family and put his foot down. She's a beautiful woman and seems to be a real lady. Not many of those in politics. especially in Ca.

Re: Sarah Palin announces she will resign

Tstew I'm with you. You can bet there is another story to this.

As to what it is who can tell. But you have to remember she went against the big oil companies that have mucho money and POWER.

Not to mention how much I trust our current prez and his cohorts.
