Newt would be a solid choice. Americans have short memories. Joe Biden even won forgiveness after be a plagiarizer and liar. Bill Clinton has high approval rating even after the Lewinsky scandal. It's his past -- but as an aged man, he's a wise sage, and perfect for the Republican Party right now. No one has a handle on practical history like he does. Articulate. Smart. I think by 2012, Palin will be more of an asset-- or at least she should be.
She was a huge liability for Sen. McCain this time.
The only bigger liability Sen. McCain had was his judgment in selecting her.
She was a good choice as far as tokens are concerned, but her ignorance was just too much to wink at.
