I understand I do to. Here is what I think in things spiritual you should defer to the one that has been in the church longer. (if he is spiritual)

As for elders we are to respect and honour them for their age. This does not mean the have all the answers either.

Obediance to man in the bible is out of persuation not because of position. We don't follow a man or women just because they hold a position. but because we see the wisdom of God in their life. Respect cannot be demanded it must be earned.

Now that is truth. Why some can not understand it is beyond me. Besides there are to many 'man-called' and not enought God-called people out there.
