"Obama planned to sign an executive order later in the day creating the White House Office on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. It would expand and refocus the faith-based office founded by former President George W. Bush.
The president will also appoint Joshua DuBois, a 26-year-old Pentecostal minister who headed religious outreach for Obama's Senate office and later his campaign, to lead the partnerships office and name 25 religious and secular leaders to a new advisory board."
Interesting. Reckon what kind of 'Pentecostal Minister' Rev DuBois is?
"During his presidential campaign, Obama said he wanted to expand White House faith-based efforts begun under Bush. But while he endorsed Bush's initiative to give religious groups more access to federal funding, he also promised to make some changes to the office.
Obama's advisers want to be certain tax dollars sent to the faith-based social service groups are used for secular purposes, such as feeding the hungry or housing the homeless, and not for religious evangelism."
Is this just another way that the government is castrating, for lack of a better word, the Church?
If the majority of the time the poor are helped...without 'evangelism'... will the government become their 'God?'.
God, help us
I wouldnt say castrating.
I would say prostituting. The goal here is to change christianity to meet the goals of social progressivism. we take their money and comply with their rules. then our churches are filled with homosexuals and we become dependant on government just like poor people and then we all become liberals.
liberalism and dependancy go hand in hand.

Perhaps churches should stop taking government funds/grants. Just a thought.

Its one thing to take money when no strings are attached (like Bush's plan). I have no problem with that, but as soon as the gubbermint starts making demands, thats when I would look them in their beedy eyeballs and tell them they can keep their blood money.
I fear America just became European this past Jan. 20th.

I think the liberal mind separates what is legal and what is acceptable to God. For example, it's legal for me to go buy a Playboy magazine...but it's not acceptable to God. Same with many other hot button issues.

then i have a liberal mind.... and rightfully so. Liberal like Thomas Jefferson....
but I disagree with the direct point here.
in this case the liberal is trying to say that a church cannot hire only those who agree with their teachings.... that is vastly different than your example above.
