Yes, out of all of our guitar players, I am the only one that plays bass. We have one other guy who has a rudimentary knowledge of bass. He can do "Johnny Cash" style, and that is about it. I can do country, rock, jazz, and blues. Not much call for them in most churches, though.

Bro. Moon mentioned about chording the bass. I have only seen it done well once...mostly it is a very bad thing.

My pastor used to travel with his family singing and evangelizing, and somewhere, he aquired a set of footpedals he uses at the piano when no bass player is present. Tonight, I think I will let him play those bass pedals and I will play my strat as all of our guitar players took off this weekend to visit their respective families out of state. I haven't played at the church for a while. Looking forward to it.

One thing I like about playing here, we run through our own amps. but we "line out" into the sound system and we have enough channels, we all have our own...including the drums.
