The answers McCain has given so far are very predictable, in my opinion.

Ok, to me, McCain blew me away. After Obama's smooth charismatic personality, I was not expecting John McCain to go over well. I was pleasantly surprised! I thought he did excellent and the people definitely responded to him more than Obama. Of course, I'm sure it was primarily a conservative Christian audience. But still, I was impressed with John McCain and I did not expect to be at all.

Does anyone know if this will be rerunning on any station tonight? I wasn't able to see it, but I really want to.
Thanks!

Not sure, but I would think it will be available on the internet. It is definitely worth seeing.

I would say McCain did a good job with his answers. I was impressed with both of them, to be honest. I didn't care for McCain's answer on putting a figure on what should be considered rich in this country. I mean, $5,000,000? Obama answered $250,000, and I found that to be a more reasonable answer. I like what McCain had to say about making education more competitive, but I also liked what Obama had to say about rewarding teachers for excellence. I think McCain tried to use his experiences in Vietnam to appeal to people's emotions. Obama seemed much more relaxed and conversational than McCain.

I see what you're saying, but I think McCain was being TIC when he said 5 million dollars. I think he just didn't want to put a cap on being "middle class" and moving into "rich".
I too liked some of Obama's answers, but I felt just the opposite about him being relaxed. I thought he hesitated on a lot of answers and kind of stuttered getting started, where McCain came across more confident and sure of what he wanted to say.
Just goes to show you that two people can watch the same thing and yet hear totally different things. Eddie says congregations are like that all the time. People will mention to him about something he said in a sermon and he knows that he never even said that, but it was heard through their personal filter. LOL!

Personally, I wish we President Bush could run a third term. Next to Reagan, he is the best President this country has had in the last 100 years!

HERE IS WHAT MATTERS THE MOST FOR ME
Excerpt:
Obama was also asked who on the U.S. Supreme Court he would have never nominated. His reply: Clarence Thomas.
"I don't think he was a strong enough jurist or a legal thinker at the time for that. I profoundly disagree with his interpretation [of the Constitution]," he said.
When asked the same question, McCain said he would have never nominated Justices Ginsberg, Breyer, Suter and Stevens.
"This nomination should be based on the critera on a proven record of strictly adhering to the Constitution and not legislating from the bench," McCain added.
The Arizona senator said he was "proud" of President Bush for nominating conservative justices Alito and Roberts to the court.
Warren also pressed Obama on two hot-button issues among social conservatives: abortion and same-sex marriage.
On abortion, Obama said that while he's pro-choice and supports Roe v. Wade, his goal is to reduce the number of abortions in America.

Re: Obama & Mcain on TV Tonight!!
I think we all already know who we are going to vote for or who we are going to vote against in the upcoming Presidential election. We assume the two men on the program tonight will be the candidates of the two major parties.
I'm also sure that whomever we favored before the program appeared to come off better than the one we did not favor. I think that's just our human nature.
I doubt if anyone on this board changed their mind because of the program on the person for whom they plan to vote.

What you are saying about Obama is one of his character traits. People say he stutters when he's not in front of a television prompter, but what you are actually seeing is a man who is thinking about what he's saying while he's saying it and choosing his words, rather than blurting out whatever the first thing is that comes into his mind.
