I don't really remember much about where it happened just that I thought how idiotic it was. I have met some people stupid enough to try that though.

I think they should ALWAYS be illegal in forrest and coastal
areas! There's a lot of stupid, irresponsible people who
drink, do drugs AND let off fireworks
Then they should be illegal in all cities where they are close to forested/brush areas

Me? I live on the ocean. Make them legal in the inner part of the city and on the beach

Re: Should Fireworks be illegal everywhere?

We in Canada are only allowed personal fireworks in the week preceding Halloween.

Every year, people get burned, and mischief ensues, & every year there is a call for a ban.

So far only a few municipalities have banned it.

we pretty much get fireworks for New Years and July 4th.

many cities ban fireworks in the city limits and areas where there is a fire hazzard due to dry grass and forrest fires also ban them.

we have liberals and people with other mental illnesses that want BANs everywhere for goof ball reasons.

I dont have a problem with city safty and fire hazzard bans. but those wanting bans because some kid was stupid, need to shut up and go away.

I agree. The calls for bans don't come from the Government, it is the people.
There is a law stating that kids 16 & under need adult supervision.

Do you read the news? There are forest fires in Colorado every year, maybe not on the same scale as California, but if you have forests, you have forest fires. 2002 was a really bad year for Colorado, but the snow pack is higher this year, and things haven't been bad yet.

Our municipality bans fireworks that explode or leave the ground, but the rest are legal.

The funny thing is a blooming flower (legal does not explode or leave the ground) started a huge fire a year or two ago....and they can be tossed in the air for added effect
