Thanks for the kind words and the prayers.

Yes it is a sad day, but also a good day with lots of life... many children playing and speaking German. Out of respect for my wife and my brothers' wife, the conversations are now peppered with English when they are in earshot.

I draw much strength and spiritual stamina from my Old Order Mennonite family, and thank God I was raised as such, even though it was not my choice to continue the lifestyle.

Seriously, I would think there must be some wistfulness. This is such a complicated world we live in with so many choices. The narrowing of choices would have it's own benefit in some ways, I would think. Even leaving the UPC has left me with that (a broadening of choices which is both good and bad at the same time). I would love to hear your take, if you ever wish to share.
