Evidence? 1: The LACK of evidence. EVERYBODY in the US has to produce an official birth certificate throughout their lives. Why shouldn't a man running for and holding the most important position in the world produce one? I have to produce my origin of birth for driver's license, passport, social security card, etc. Saying "My state says I was born there" won't fly with anybody.

Everybody doesn't need to produce an official BC anytime it is asked to prove they are born here. A COLB proves they were born here. It even says it's proof of that fact on the document itself.

2. $2 million spent to fight this. Why in the world would anyone fight to keep an official document as basic as a birth certificate? Presidents traditionally make their IRS tax forms available for observation. Transparency is the goal. Why not be transparent about origin of birth if there's nothing to hide?

If the issue was about his origin of birth then he has been transparent. He showed a document from Hawaii that said he was born in Hawaii.

Here are the possibilities:

* He was not born in the USA and they are hiding that fact b/c if true his presidency is over.

* He was born in the USA but his birth cert has information on it that they feel would've hurt him in 2008 and would hurt him in 2012. Maybe it says he's a Muslim under the religion category. Maybe it says something that is embarrassing or something that they think would affect voters.

Neither of your possibilities make sense. The most sensibile possibility is that he is hiding that there is no long form BC. Nothing on a long form BC is worth spending 2 million on hiding. Not having a long form BC doesn't prove he was born somewhere else.

Whatever the case, the burden of proof is always on the individual to prove their origin of birth. Its NEVER on everyone else to prove it. How BO got by this far without a bc is beyond me.

He has proven it. He showed his COLB that says he was born in Hawaii. If you have a problem with his COLB then take it up with Hawaii (the one who issued his COLB) and not with him.

Donald Trump produced a C of LB the other day and when called on it was able to produce a real BC within 24 hours. All of us can produce one when necessary. Why should BO get a pass?

Many states do not release the long form BC's anymore. They do computer generated proofs of Birth that have information on them that varies from state to state. Many times those proofs of birth are COLB's.

By the way, get your story right... Trump did not show a COLB, he issued an unofficial hospital record of his Birth the first time.

My son is 21 years old and in grad school. Grad work in math and finishing his undergrad in chemistry.
He switched from liberal to conservitive in one math lesson from me his dad. He was proud of one of his hard earned A's. I told him as a liberal he should share his grade with the kids that flunked and didn't do good work. Every one needed to be equal. Poor people should have a share of the wealth from stingy people that save money. Party kids should have a share of the GPA from the kids that work hard and leave parties early and cram for tests. It is not fair to give hard working students the good grades and give the others bad grades.

He went to the U.N. and not the U.S. congress, that's how it's justified, at least to the left.
I wish I could say he was just inept and inexperienced, (though he is both to a degree) but he sees America thru a different lens. He can't possibly have come from the background he has and have a love for this nation as the founding fathers and constituion invision.
I wonder if America can survive two more long years of this administration?

It survived the Bush administration... so it can survive anything

He nominated Kagan for the supreme court. She was the Dean of Harvard Law as I recall. She took a constitutional law course out of the core requirements and inserted international law as a required class. See I expected this a year ago.

Yep, that's part of the mindset that does not believe in American exceptionalism.
What a pity.
With these people in charge, looks like we won't be "keeping the republic" after all.
