It always amazes me how so many people that are against everything except breathing clean air somehow have no problem with the internet.

Even the best filters in the world can't block out every "non-christian" element that is available online.

It is a definite double standard more based on tradition than anything else. "Separation" would at the very least demand that computers are not hooked up to the internet.

In the church I used to attend we used to say we didn't allow sports because we didn't believe in fresh air. lol

Let me tell you, today, one of the most enjoyable times I've ever had was with my son at a ball park. He glows, he's a good little kid.

I was so strict I made my wife wear a second covering upon her head as a token of my authority. No short sleeves, etc.

Today...we believe in fresh air. But we're still working out the damage done to us as a family from that church.

Sorry, but your comparison here holds no water.
There’s a time for everything under heaven.

I think you need to read the Song of Solomon. Hey, maybe even find a pictorial depiction of the story (I have one in a box somewhere). At one point in chapter 6 the Shulammite becomes overcome with desire and breaks into an ecstatic and erotic dance before her own kinsman (some linguistic indicators are that she may have even danced her clothes off). In typical eastern fashion they surround her clapping and singing, whistling, and cheering. She then departs from their company to be with her lover and her kinsmen begin calling for her to come back so they can behold her beauty. Her beloved teasingly jeers them by asking what they liked so much about her. Then he begins to revel in her physical beauty talking about exactly what he likes about her. In fact, she’s praised for her dance and never rebuked for dancing in public like that. LOL

The Bible isn’t for the Puritan types I assure you.

Now, I don’t think kids should go all out like that…but I don’t think a boy and girl dancing with parents and teachers supervising on the sidelines is all that terrible. I survived my prom and even married my high school sweetheart, and I’m still faithfully serving the Lord and attending church.

Hmm sounds like we have taken similar paths, perhaps? No, I didn't wear a second covering. I did consider it at one time. But I was an ultra-con. We are also still healing.

LOL! I've heard the comment about "not believing in fresh air."

From my observations, those that don't believe in fresh air often get plenty of it themselves...playing golf, fishing, hunting, more golf, etc. But of course, thats different you know.
