I believe you, I was just using nahkoe as an example of someone who isn't shirking the system and deserves help. I'm not a big proponent of the welfare system, but there are honest people who need help.

Note her part about accepting assistance. Without that, there is absolutely no way I could go to school. If it's out there, I'm taking full advantage of it right now.
I do take full Pell grants, full work study grants, full Perkin's loans, full subsidized (federally, no interest until I graduate, that sort of thing) loans and unsubsidized (no payments, but interest starts accruing immediately..ugh) loans. And, any other grant or scholarship anyone wants to send my way. (and work 2 jobs, plus parent 4 kids, and I'm also doing another Bible study course in my spare time...)
And, I dunno that I'm doing so well. I'm giving very serious though to quitting. I can't keep this up for years and years, and it will take that long to get a degree. I'm working very hard right now to make some plans, figure out how I can get a degree and not miss an entire span of my life, and my kids' lives, in the process. Life is far too precious for me to spend it exhausted and burned out.

Sorry Rico, I strongly nonconcur with you on this one!

Thank you! Exactly my point!

I don't care whether you agree with me or not, Brother. I have known more than one gay person, and not one of them made the choice to be attracted to people of the same sex, any more than you made the choice to be attracted to the opposite sex.

Exactly, that was the ultimate point as well. Yes, it can be done, but some people have no idea what the personal cost is. Especially if you want to be a Godly mother who is there for her children. It is just really hard for me, to have people who have never lived it, try to weigh in on and be judgmental about a subject that they have no real understanding of.
