I would like a nickle for everytime I was asked "have you seen brother Tenney yet?"
That's funny!!!!

Also, did your friends that weren't in church think you were nuts going to "camp" and just have church all day and night. Their camps were at the lake with horseback riding, games, etc. LOL!!!!

Re: UPC Culture

My first and only experience with Youth Camp in Texas was good except for the scorpions and the cotton mouth snakes. I also attended one in Georgia that was a lot different.

Re: UPC Culture

Here is a term only preachers use I believe,Candy Stick messages.Preachers who have a favorite type of sermon call it a candystick message.
Another term exclusive to Pentecost is calling a good service a Holy Ghost hoe-down.

I have that on a cassette tape some where. I believe we have a video also of them singing at one of the Gen.Conf.

Re: UPC Culture

Another term I cringe at is hearing a preacher called a Preaching machine.
I guess it's ok it's sounds disrespectful to me.

Re: UPC Culture

We all use to gather at the church on friday youth rally nights and car pool to the hosting church.(before vans or buses) We would sing just about every song we knew going to the ralley. On the way back after stopping to eat we would all go to sleep except for the driver.

I got to sit on the motor housing of the van next to Bro. Hosch. I was so special.
