Mary becomes the mother of the "hypostatic union". 
God is the Father of the "hypostatic union".

No, Mary was mother of the flesh. And that makes the flesh that God was made into called the SON OF GOD, because she was mother and God was Father.
Gabriel said BECAUSE God would overshadow Mary and cause her to become pregnant with what John explained was GOD MADE INTO FLESH, the presence of a Father and a mother would be the reason the child would be called SON OF GOD.
