Yes. But this is an inaccurate analogy. Against the backdrop of the history of the org, the sweeping change to television, with all of the unspoken implications and approvals, is NOT analogous to tossing in another line or two.

It's more along the lines of upturning the entire pontoon boat upon which you and your whole extended family were perched, and hoping that some of them (maybe grandma) will think to swipe a fish or two before they bob back up to the surface.

That's a good question.

I have a neighbor, that was COGIC, and he goes to all the churches in town and gets invited to preach. I might need to start tagging along with him.......

Yes.

Or it can incubate the festering infection, when what the wound needs is some antiseptic and some serious scouring.

Hey, how about some direct pressure to stop the hemmorhaging?

That'll preach!

I don't think so. Living where I do fishing is a common thing. Right on the ocean and not far from some of the best bass fishing around, fishing would be a common analogy.

Many surf fishers use more than one pole at a time...having two or more lines in and maybe more than one kinds of bait...or maybe one line is deeper than the other...you never know what you might catch at different depths

Fresh water fishing is a great analogy..you go out for bass. You want several kinds of lures. You want some that will work well in cover like submerged bushes and other growth or some that works well in open. You might want something that works well in deep water where the bass are currently at or in shallows...are they gorging on smaller fish? sometimes certain lures work and others do not.

Sometimes life bait works...which ones? Might try more than one, night crawlers, crawdads....

Or maybe you find some trout but no bass....do you have the right lures for them? The right bait?

I remember one time I saw a couple of fish just off shore frolicking. I suppose maybe they were maiting. I was not sure what they were but they were not biting anything. So I finally decided just to keep casting the same little lure I had been using over and over. It looked like a small fish and the tail would "wiggle" as you reeled it in. My intent was to make them so annoyed they would finally bite! lol...it worked!

I think fishing is a great analogy. There are many different kinds of fish...fresh water and salt...and often times they are at different depths and are feeding on different baits...for some you might need a stronger pole and test...the current might be swift so you need a heavier weight...you might need to wait for high tide lol...there are many different kinds of people too and how they think and their availability...we should use every means to pepper them with the truth...why not? The media peppers them with lies and the World Mentality...

We are in a battle for the hearts and minds of Americans vs the World/Satan and the World seems to have a larger market share than we do!
