The ministers in the Southern California region are very much for this. There may be a couple opponents...however, there is a HUGE majority for it. I heard there is a vote in the Southern California area on Saturday of UPC ministers regarding the vote. Those results from the conference and this vote on Saturday will be forwarded to the General Board. I think they take up the issue in Tampa at their General Board meetings.

I think Abbey supports the formation of a new district.

It sounds counter-intuitive for a voting body to vote for a supportor of a new district and then vote against it happening.

I would tend to believe ... that if he was voted in by the Western District .... he would do what the majority of the body wants ....

He would wield more power in a unified district.
