and what I am saying is that carrying cash in any manner, in ones pocket, in a money belt, in a box or strapped to your head is NOT suspect in any way shape or form.
Yes some people with ill intent will carry cash. That is absolutly true, but when we abdicate our right as law abiding citizens, we open the door of abuse to the government.
beyond that TSA's job is to keep airline passengers safe. It is not to keep potential bad guys from flying.

I know the whole point is that he was stopped for carrying cash and napolitano said that they can't detain him for that, but - i think i would have just answered their questions and see where it went from there.

In a box is a totally different story. It's just suspect, Ferd.

I still don't see why he had to act so obstinate about answering the questions. They even said, "If you don't have anything to hide, then why can't you answer the question?"
My only question is this - In answering, what could he have said that would have incriminated him?
Sounds like too much, unnecessary, drama on his part.
Again, drama on his part?
the guy did nothing wrong. he didnt do anything that should have gotten this kind of attention. His actions are not in question.

If they had any legal authority the answer would have been a clear and resounding... YES.
But they did not.
Also... this "obstinate" behavior occurred because he was detained. Not the other way around.
If standing up for your rights is the definition of obstinance then color me obstinate.
He was asking one question. Is he legally required to answer that question.
If he is... then he would answer.
if he is not legally required to answer the question then... he does not have to.
I have to run, but I listened to it again and I thought - "Why would you approach the questioning in this manner? You are making yourself look suspect, secretive and guilty?"
