God forbid we celebrate Jesus' birth on a certain day of the year! It might be a pagan day! Folks, DO NOT CELEBRATE JESUS' BIRTH on DEC. 25. Any other day is fine. BUT NOT DEC 25th!!!!!

Oh, and do not thank God for your eggs and bacon on Easter Sunday! Any other day but that day.

No need, nor commandment to celebrate His birth, so much as it IS commanded us to remember His Resurrection! I will rejoice in that forever more.

The Bible clearly says not to adopt pagan methods of worship and service and offer it unto God.

All these arguments bringing up other pagan traditions are just a smokescreen so you don't have to admit you are worshipping God the way pagans worshipped their gods. If you want to celebrate Jesus' birth knock yourself out, but don't involve yourself in all the trappings of Christmas paganism and be foolish enough to think it pleases God. His Word does not change regardless of how popular Christmas may be.

Is Pentecost Sunday a pagan holiday????
The Bible never said to celebrate that particular day, BUT WE DO in Apostolic circles...

I NEVER look at my Christmas tree and think about worshipping Jesus...nor do I think about worshipping the tree

I worship Him and thank Him EVERYDAY for what he has done but what's wrong with having a day to focus on His birth as the Son of God???

The Jews had feasts for EVERYTHING! Had they received Jesus as the Christ, I'm sure they would've had feast to commemorate that day as well.

Show me in the Bible where God rebuked His people for having a feast where HE is being honored?????

True, Christmas has been commericialized, but so has Easter and every holiday. It's to the point where people decorate their houses and put up lights on their house for THANKSGIVING!!!! But that doesn't take away from the original purpose of why we celebrate the particular day/season.

My wife and I put our tree up last night. For the record, after it was all set up, lights hung, garland hung, ornaments NEITHER ONE US said, "Lord we offer this Christmas tree unto you"

The tree has nothing to do with God, nor do the wreaths, the garland, or the 9 foot "frosty the snow man" that's going up in my front yard.

There is a commercial side to Christmas and a spiritual side for those who honor it as a time to remember the birth of the Christ.

You have to make the distinction.

It becomes a sin when we lower ourselves to greed and lust for things. It becomes a sin when we make debts we cannot pay and try to keep up with the family up the street.
Wise men celebrated it too....
