Every one of Timmy's posts seem to be attempts to undermine any faith in the bible.
Anyone else notice that?
If that's the case, I'm not bothered by it. If our faith is as strong as we claim, then someone attempting to undermine faith in the bible won't be a problem.
Timmy isn't the holder of truth for this trivia question. He'll pull a fast one (maybe) and then it will be debate ad nauseam about the divinity versus humanity of Jesus.

I agree. But what about newbies to the faith who come here?
Timmy is a wonderful person, for sure. But would a pastor, let's say, really want someone going to all the saints in the church and asking them all these sorts of questions that are meant to inspire doubt in the bible? Just asking. I mean, it's like, "Think of this..." and it is intended to get people thinking of an alleged implication that would cause one to conclude the bible cannot be true due to that implication.

First, I would panic if I found out my "newbies" came here. I had some "oldbies" find out about this and I panicked. And I'll tell ya, it wasn't because of Timmy...but I AM scared to death of those religious people.
Our church is full of "Timmy's" and I love them dearly. I even told Timmy (by PM) that he should be on my board!

"Faith never questioned is faith never really owned."
That's a quote........from me.
Honestly.....no. I wouldn't necessarily like it if Timmy were going from person asking questions that provoked doubt. But you know what? I'm CERTAIN that Timmy would never do that. He has issues with pentecostalism, as do I. He has issues with Christianity, as do I. He has doubts about the bible, which I do not. But do I have questions? Sure.
If Timmy were to come to our church and I discovered that he were going from person to person in an attempt to turn them against their faith, I'd ask him not to do that. But again, I don't see any way he'd do that. I trust him.

I am not here to bash Timmy. Please know that. But I think what you would not want him to do in your church is what he is doing on the forum. It does concern me.

You may have a point and I wouldn't necessarily disagree with you. But this IS the internet. How much can we control what people in our churches do? Stores are full of books that are MUCH more biblically degrading than Timmy. And college students in our church sit in classes that openly mock and laugh at Christianity. Should I tell them not to attend?
But if Timmy were to go through the congregation attempting to cast doubt, I would think that's a little different than what he does here.
And one more thing....if Timmy takes a poll about Jesus killing someone and it causes people to go dig out their bibles and study?.....I think that's a good thing.

But I understand where you're coming from.
It's just that it reminds me of the forum ruling that those of other doctrines that conflict with apostolic tenets as listed in the beliefs of the forum are not allowed to propose their conflicting beliefs and shoot down our beliefs. So if someone is posting posts for the purpose of inflicting doubt on the bible, I mean how much more can it be against the same ruling?
