It's just a picture of a custom going back to the times of ancient Egypt. People were partaking in khat long before Muhammad was born.

Jason, it's just a modern picture of the custom of men partaking in khat. And the use of khat goes as far back as ancient Egypt. It's not something that's strictly Jewish, Muslim, or Christian. It's just something common in that area of the world and has been for thousands of years.

Bro, Google it. I'm sure you'll find a wealth of information regarding rabbinical practice where this was performed and where it was condemned. Rabbis have expressed various opinions regarding the use of tobacco.
But the point is that we only think of it as wrong today. It wasn't viewed as being so wrong centuries ago. Nor were other substances in biblical times.
I gave the example of a brother who is a third generation Apostolic. He remembers his grandmother rolling her own cigarettes. They thought nothing of it because it wasn't considered unhealthy back then.
Today none of us would have any issue with a depiction of Jesus eating lamb rubbed with animal fat mixed with ground coffee beans (food preparation in the Middle East and North African originating in ancient Ethiopia). But if in 5 years medical science proved that coffee was extremely bad for our health suddenly preachers would begin preaching against it. And then they would find it unthinkable that Jesus would ever eat anything relating to the evil bean of coffee.

Im only interested in your assertion about what jews wrote long ago. I want to see it, I am not going to support your arguments for you. Aquila this is something you keep doing. You make assertions and then expect someone else to prove it for you.

I've always thought smoking is like playing in traffic. It may not send you to hell but it'll send you to heaven quicker than you planned.

I don't think I'll EVER live long enough to see any Pentecostal preacher (liberal or conservative) preaching against coffee! LOL! I know way too many people, especially preachers, who can't seem to live without the stuff. I don't care for it myself, so I guess I'm going to heaven.
