IF a woman has the right to speak in tongues in a church service she has the right to also use any of the gifts of the spirit...
The HG is for everyone and so are the gifts...we all should seek them...
The early church settings and services were far different from our style today...

God uses vessels...He chose to use Deborah...she rose up at a time of need...that does not mean she was screaming and spitting but she sure did whatever was needed...she must have been quite a woman in her day...

as long as your head is covered and you are using gifts of the spirit your in the Word ,When you teach or usurp authority over the man you are not.In 1Timothy 2 Paul was not talking about Husband and wife relationships but Church protocol.You must read Timothy as as letters to a young Pastor regarding Church eldership.

Joel 2:28," And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions."
In Acts 2:17 Peter quoted the prophet Joel.
They all spoke...I have seen very few people recieve the HG without getting very excited...
both sons and daughters shall prophecy...and the correct place to give the word of the Lord is in the church...those were Paul's words....

A prophetess is simply a female prophet. Just like a prophet, a prophetess is a person called by God. A prophet (male or female) is the mouthpiece for the one who sends him or her; the prophet speaks on behalf of the sender ( Exodus 7:1-2)...
The sender is GOD...
No flesh should try to glory over being used of God...It is God's word, God's work and if he does not draw then no one is drawn to Him...All glory belongs to God.

The gift of prophesy operating on Phillip's daughters is the fulfillment of another prophesy. The prophet Joel foretold in Joel 2:28 that when the Holy Spirit would be poured out "your sons and daughters shall prophesy". Acts 2:17 reaffirms Joel's Old Testament prophesy.
We must remember women lived under harsh cruel rules in those days however God sometimes choose weak things to confound the wise...
Jesus was often radical in His day...He broke quite a few of their Talmud rules and thinking...Not only by talking to women, healing the woman with the issue of blood, holding children in His lap...breaking the sabbeth, eating with unwashed hands...
Wow..I would have like to seen the expression on the face of the religious leaders of His day...
The woman of Samaria at Jacob's well is one of the most amazing stories to me of the whole Bible...
A foreign, single woman (?) who had had five husbands, and was now living with a man who was not her husband was the one Jesus chose to bring a town in Samaria to him so that they could say, “We have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is truly the Savior of the world”
wow...that always amazes me...no she was no prophetess or preacher but her testimony stirred a whole city...
now back to women prophetess...

So you are saying environment is the controlling factor?
In that case Paul's writing against homosexual life style doesn't apply today because of the environment. Today the practice of that life style is condoned by the MAJORITY of the people around the world.
